This project is being commissioned as part of a funding award to Nestrans from a 20 million GBP Scottish Government investment during 2026/27 as part of the Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan, which will support measures to address the affordability, accessibility and availability barriers of transport to employment, helping to address the cost of living crisis and child poverty by saving people money in travelling to work and opening up opportunities for employment and skills training that will increase household incomes. This funding is being distributed across the seven Regional Transport Partnerships (RTPs) and the 32 Local Employability Partnerships (LEPs) across Scotland. Nestrans has received a grant award of 985,809 GBP for the 2026/27 financial year out of a total award to the RTPs of 11 million GBP. This funding will help to deliver on national strategy (Bringing Hope, Building Futures: Tackling child poverty delivery plan 2026-2031) plus regional and local strategies.
